Climate Research Summit

Federal Research Minister Dr. Annette Schavan invited high-ranking representatives from industry, science, and politics to a national climate research summit to Hamburg. The goal is to close ranks between industry and science.

On 3rd of May 2007, Federal Research Minister Dr. Annette Schavan invited high-ranking representatives of industry, science and politics to a national climate research summit to Hamburg.

On the summit, six dialogue panels were constituted on energy, chemistry, materials science, construction and livning, traffic and mobility, and agriculture. From a first overview on relevant topics, concrete roadmaps for the development of technologies and processes for responsible dealings with the climate shall be developed until fall 2007.

On a second climate research summit in fall 2007 a common program of industry and science will be presented to identify relevant technologies to achieve national climate goals. The contribution of industry and science shall be shown to link climate protection with economic growth, wealth, and quality of life.
